This Diploma in Law introduces learners to essential legal concepts and practices across various branches of the legal system. Students will explore core topics such as contract law, criminal law, employment law, and torts, alongside developing academic and research skills tailored for legal study. The course provides a solid base for those aiming to pursue further legal education or enter the legal profession at an entry level.

 Time Table 
The programme runs from 26 October 2026 to 26 July 2027, covering six academic learning and assessment periods. Teaching includes guided lectures, practical activities, case studies, group discussions, independent study and assignment preparation. A Winter Vacation is scheduled from 21 December 2026 to 8 January 2027, followed by a Spring Vacation from 29 March to 16 April 2027. The final period focuses on assignment completion, assessment, quality assurance, academic review and confirmation of programme completion, with results processed in August 2027.

Modules include an introduction to law and practice, key principles of criminal and contract law, and practical insights into employment and tort law. Learners will also strengthen their academic and legal research abilities through targeted skill-building. The course encourages analytical thinking, legal reasoning, and understanding of real-world legal applications in various contexts.

Upon the completion of the diploma, the student will be able to learn the following:
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the structure, functions, and sources of law within the legal system.
  • Explain the essential elements of a valid contract and apply legal principles to resolve contractual disputes.
  • Describe the key principles of criminal liability and apply them to analyze basic criminal cases.
  • Identify the rights and responsibilities of employers and employees within the framework of employment law.
  • Analyze legal duties and liabilities in tort, including negligence and duty of care.
  • Apply academic and legal research skills to source, interpret, and present legal information effectively.
