PhD In Nutrition
This course is designed to provide advanced statistical knowledge relevant to the fields of nutrition and health business. Learners will gain the ability to collect, process, and interpret data critical to decision-making in clinical nutrition, food industries, and public health organizations.
The course integrates statistical models with real-time data to help identify dietary patterns, assess nutritional outcomes, and evaluate program effectiveness. Emphasis is placed on the use of statistical software and data visualization to derive actionable insights. By the end of the programme, learners will be able to support nutrition research and business strategies through sound statistical practices.
Course Details
In this segment, students will complete an academic research report on a chosen topic, which typically takes one to two years to finish.
The student will undertake a thesis project that demonstrates original research, critical thinking, and scholarly contribution to the field of nutrition. The thesis must address a significant issue related to human nutrition, public health, clinical nutrition, food science, or dietetics, and should be grounded in relevant theoretical frameworks and supported by empirical data.
Students are expected to design a research methodology, conduct comprehensive literature reviews, collect and analyze data using appropriate statistical tools, and present findings that add value to academic and practical understanding. Ethical considerations, particularly in studies involving human participants, must be rigorously observed and documented. The final thesis should reflect a high standard of academic writing and contribute meaningfully to advancements in nutritional science or practice.
