International Higher National Diploma In Law (Level 5)

The purpose of the International Higher National Diploma in Law (Level 5) is to develop students professionally and personally, equipping them with the legal knowledge and critical thinking skills to meet the demands of the legal sector and thrive in an ever-changing global environment. This course enhances your ability to understand legal issues, analyze complex problems, and find effective solutions. It introduces you to fundamental legal concepts essential for understanding how law functions, ensuring that whether you pursue further education or enter the legal profession, you will stand out with a critically developed understanding of the key skills needed to excel in the legal field.


This International Higher National Diploma in Law (Level 5) serves as a solid foundation for further legal education and opens up diverse career opportunities within the legal profession.


After the successful completion of the Programme, you will earn a UK 120 credit hours Certification awarded by MSBM partners.

Course Details

Each module consists of 40 guided learning hours of material with an additional 30-50 hours worth of optional materials which comprise of recommended exercises, recommended readings and internet resources. Within the modules are self-testing exercises. You must take care in answering these. Although they are not marked nor do they count towards your final assessment, the marking is tested against your scoring on the final assessment to check for consistency of score.

Successful completion of the full Level 5 Diploma in Law will equip students with the necessary credentials to pursue careers in legal practice, corporate law, legal consultancy, compliance, or public sector roles.


Upon the successful completion of the course, the student will be able to learn the following:
  • Explores the legal framework governing companies, including corporate structure, regulation, and governance practices.
  • Focuses on the legal rights and obligations of employers and employees in the workplace.
  • Examines the legal aspects of international trade, cross-border transactions, and global business regulations.
  • Covers the legal principles related to land ownership, property rights, and land use.
  • Focuses on civil wrongs and the legal remedies available to those harmed by others’ actions or negligence.
  • Introduces research techniques and professional skills essential for effective legal practice and analysis

University Progression

University Top-up

On completion of this course, students have the opportunity to complete a Master degree programme from Girne American University. The top-up programme can be studied online or on campus. The top-up comprises the final 60 credits which consist of either a dissertation or a dissertation and one module.

Entry Requirements

For entry into Level 5 International Higher National Diploma in Law, learners must possess:


* Relevant/Local Board of Examination Result in your Country, which must include at least 5 'C' Grades in English and 4 other subjects. 

* Mock Examination Results can also be accepted for initial Conditional Admission, pending the release of the Board of Examination Results. (This is assessed on a case by case basis). 

* Learner must be 18 years and older at the start of the Course. 

OR

Mature Learners (21 years and older) with work experience in supervisory, leadership, or management roles. (This is assessed on a case by case basis).
