The MSBM Special Executive Masters Programme are short certificate modules designed for anyone who would benefit from more in-depth business knowledge delivered in a short and intensive programme. This programme is suitable for successful professionals or specialist in the private, public or non-profit making sectors that have new management responsibilities and need to quickly expand their management knowledge.

The (SEMP) programme serves as a refresher course for those who have had their Masters a long time ago and need a quick reminder or as an academic update while it serves as a crash programme for those very experienced professionals who never made time out for their masters yet they require the academic and practical relevance of this masters’ experience. It is a good programme for individuals who are newly promoted to the managerial post, the program enables them to acclimatise to the new position as well as help them in take the right decisions.

There is no strict Academic Requirement for this Programme as it is a Non-Credit Bearing Programme. However, Students are expected to have at least 2 years working Experience.

Our SEMP courses have defined start dates and end dates. A critical part of self-directed learning is to have a finish line. All SEMP courses take three months to complete, assignments are given after every two lectures, and at the end of the program, the student has to turn in an individual project work. There is no strict requirement for this programme as it is a non-credit bearing programme. It is compulsory for students to complete all modules in order to be awarded a Specials Executive Masters Certificate at the end of the program. 

As an SEMP student, you are never alone in your course. You are part of a cohort of 20 to 30 learners from organisations and industries around the world. Required discussions play an important part of your course, giving you and your classmates the opportunity to share and exchange your own experiences, best practices, perspectives, and examples. All this shared learning is facilitated by an instructor who brings both subject-matter expertise and real-world experience. The SEMP is a non-degree, non-credit bearing programme. Delegates get a certificate of completion at the end of the programme called the SEMP Certificate. The SEMP series of courses provides supervisors and managers from entry level to mid-level with the skills and competencies they need to manage their time, communicate effectively, motivate their employees, resolve workplace confrontations, prevent and address inappropriate workplace behaviour, conduct legal and unbiased employee interviews, and manage the performance of their direct reports. Students who earn the full certificate possess a recognised and highly regarded credential to give them the competitive edge they are seeking while contributing greater value to their organisation.

The Special Executive Masters Programme (SEMP) is an Executive Education Programme.It is “NON-CREDIT BEARING and NON-DEGREE HOLDING”. The SEMP is NOT an actual Masters Programme but a trademark of the Metropolitan School of Business and Management. The SEMP is very similar to the “MINI MBA” offered by Universities all around the world. However, the modules of the SEMP programme was modelled after the regular masters programmes which allow delegates to gain a thorough knowledge of the subject. This programme cannot be used as a Masters Certificate or disguised as such as it carries no credit and cannot be used to pursue an academic PHD. However the relevancy of the certificate lies in the knowledge of the bearer to demonstrate ground knowledge of the subject the certificate was issued in, and this certificate counts towards the appropriate Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
